01. Choose the VPS type

  1. Choose the VPS you want. A higher price means better performance. If you plan to run 1 to 3 MT4 or MT5 platforms, the Cloud VPS 2-8 is more than enough.

  2. Click on Order now and continue with the setup.

Keep all settings on the default options. Do not add an SSL certificate and do not enable Cyber Protection. Once everything is set, continue to the shopping cart.

Connecting to Your VPS via Remote Desktop

You're almost there! Let’s connect to your VPS using Remote Desktop Connection, a built-in Windows app.

1. Enable Remote Desktop connection on your VPS

  • First you need to make sure your VPS allows you to connect to it. On your VPS, go to 'Settings', then look for 'Remote desktop settings'. Click it, and make sure 'Enable Remote Desktop' is turned on.

2. Open Remote Desktop Connection

  • On your own Windows PC, press Start, type Remote Desktop Connection, and open the app.

3. Enter the IP Address

  • In the popup window, find the field labeled Computer.

  • Enter the IP address (can be found in your Contabo account, check their guide).

4. Enter Login Credentials

  • You’ll now be asked for your username and password:

    • Username: Administrator

    • Password: The password you created.

5. Connect to Your VPS

  • After entering your credentials, click OK.

  • You might see a warning about the certificate: click Yes to continue.

🎉 Done! A new window will open showing your VPS desktop{ basically a full Windows PC in the cloud. Congratulations, your VPS is now fully set up and ready to use!


Now that you're connected to your VPS, let's make it more user-friendly:

1. Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security

  • On your VPS desktop, open Server Manager (you can find it in the Start menu).

  • In the left menu, click on Local Server.

  • Look for IE Enhanced Security Configuration on the right.

  • Click it, and turn it off for both Administrators and Users.

🔒 This makes browsing and downloading much easier on your VPS.

2. Install Google Chrome

  • Open Internet Explorer.

  • Search for Google Chrome and download it from the official website.

  • Install it. Chrome offers a smoother and more modern browsing experience than IE.

  • Download the Windows App (Remote Desktop) from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

  • Log in using the VPS IP address, username (Administrator), and your VPS password.

💻 Access from a MacBook or Tablet

You can also access your VPS from other devices like:

  • MacBook

  • iPad

  • Android tablets

Just install the same Windows Remote Desktop App (search “Windows App Mobile” or “Microsoft Remote Desktop”), and log in with your VPS credentials.
